Luton Council ‘Call for Sites’ 2024
We're preparing a new Local Plan and are therefore issuing a ‘call for sites’ starting on the 12 December 2024 and closing on the 7 February 2025 at 5pm.
We invite landowners, developers and community groups to promote available land and property which can be used for the future development needs of the town.
In particular, we're interested in land and property opportunities that could help to meet needs for the following uses:
- housing
- affordable housing
- custom and self-build housing
- gypsy and traveller and traveller showpeople (G&T) pitches and plots
- employment including commercial, service, industrial land
- brownfield land (to be included on the brownfield land register (BLR)
- tourism, culture and leisure
- biodiversity net gain (BNG)
- nature recovery (local nature recovery strategy)
- renewable energy: solar, wind, biomass, combined heat and other innovative solutions such as geothermal, pumped water and gravity storage
- green and blue infrastructure such as greenspace and water bodies
The pro forma can be used for new sites and/or to update existing sites you may have already submitted for inclusion in our land supply, captured in the strategic housing land availability assessment (SHLAA). The accompanying Guidance notes should be reviewed prior to completing the pro forma.
